Back in the swing of things

Well I am back downtown again. I should make a habit of this, it really feels good leaving the west side.

Yesterday I had my first Ed 2500 lecture and I am ever more excited to be taking this course. It will be vastly different than any other course I have taken, I expect it to be intensive but also very fun. My professor introduced himself as an asshole and a hard-nosed unionist, at least that is the reputation he has gained over the years (He chaired two teachers strikes, including the 2002 Southern Alberta strike). He is retired but continues to teach at the school as a sessional instructor, he claims that he is very forgetfull and boring. I like him and am looking forward to this class.
One of the class compontents is a reflectional journal (I told you this class was going to be different), I'm not sure how effective this will be but I am open to the concept. One of the purposes is to create a dialogue between the practicum teachers, the professors, and the student (me). A second purpose is to establish that the student posesses a basic knowledge of grammer, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure (I am a little bit concerned about this, my printing skills have not improved much beyond the fifth grade). A third purpose of the journals is to judge the student as a person. I had not realized this until I spoke with an old friend, who is also taking the course. She was very worried (needlessly I think), and told me that this could be the most I will be judged in my life. A fail in the course could indicate a failure in life. I am anxious to find out whether God's creation in me has been a waste. I will keep you all posted so that you can decide whether or not you would like to contine being my friend.
I don't have a lot of practice writting a journal so I plan on updating here a little more regularly, to get into the swing of things. Be prepared for some Mad reflective writting, and made up feelings (feelings? what are feelings?). Cheers.
